Dr. Sujit Chyau Patnaik is a Senior Consultant with 20+ years of experience in cancer surgery. He had comprehensive training in Surgical Oncology, as Registrar at Indo-American Cancer Research Institute, Hyderabad. Acquired rich experience in General Surgical Oncology before venturing to Minimal Invasive Surgery in Cancer. Trained in Laparoscopic surgery and received solid organ training in laparoscopy from the European Institute of Telesurgery, Strassburg, France. Successfully completed the Thoracic Surgery visiting fellowship from ASAN Medical Centre, in Seoul, South Korea. Experienced in VATS and Thoracolaproscopy for Lungs, Esophageal cancer. Specializes in Minimal Invasive Surgery in Cancer with a special interest in GI and thoracic surgery. Planning and executing major surgical resection in Oncology pertaining to Thoracic, Upper GI, Colorectal, and Soft tissue cancer.
He is a full-time faculty member for the DNB programme in Surgical Oncology since 2011, involved in training the DNB residents and also provides co-guidance in their dissertation and research publications. He is an invited faculty member in National and Regional Live Operative workshops for GI and Thoracic Cancer. He has more than 20 Research Publications in National and International Journals. The majority of the poor patients of the twin states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana under the free health scheme are managed under his care. Felicitated by the Honorable Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh for serving the underprivileged in May 2010. Treating patients with utmost care and compassion and training young surgeons for the future is his main forte.
He strongly believes in ethical practice and ensures that patients become a part of the decision making process of individualized treatment protocols best suited for them.
